The Daisy Crochet Top Pattern

This one is my little labour of love. The Daisy top is a romantic, lacy crochet top made up of dozens of dainty flowers joined together, with a delicate shell stitch bust and the sweetest open back finished with a tie. It's the kind of top that gets you stopped on the street, and when someone asks where it's from, you get to say you made it yourself.

Like all my patterns, this one is made to measure. You'll build the top against your own body, so it fits you beautifully whatever your size. No size charts, no compromises, just a top made for you.

Fair warning, this is a slightly more advanced project. You'll be making individual flowers and joining them as you go, working a four row shell pattern for the bust, and shaping the arched back panel with its ties. But don't let that scare you off. I've broken everything down into small numbered steps with photos of nearly every single stage, hand drawn stitch diagrams, and there's a full video tutorial to follow along with too. If you're comfortable with the basic stitches and ready to level up, this is such a rewarding make.

The front is a garden of joined flowers topped with a soft shell stitch bodice, the back is a solid panel with a gorgeous open arch that ties at your lower back, and the whole thing comes together with simple straps you can place exactly where you want them.

You'll need:
Four 50 g balls of 8/4 cotton (I used Søstrene Grene cotton, and the amount will vary with your sizing), a 2.5 mm hook, and stitch markers.
